Mosby's Rangers
In January 1863, at Mt. Zion Church near Aldie, Va., John Mosby first met with 15 men to form the group which would become known as Mosby's Rangers.

The Mill at Aldie
On two separate occasions small skirmishes between Federal cavalry and Mosby's Rangers occurred here at the mill in Aldie, Va.

The Runaway
As John Mosby and 17 of his men came upon 200 Federal cavalry at Aldie Mill, his horse bolted. The runaway carried him through the Union lines and across this bridge, scattering the enemy and capturing 19 men and 23 horses.
